EMINEM – Return of the psycho

This is an album cover of Eminem’s Return of the psycho. The font style that Eminem chose for his title is horror type to represent fear but it also has a prison wall scratching effect that the prisoners do in order to write on the wall. The red on the title Return of the psycho is a bloody red colour which in Eminem’s case its hate, envy and pain of things he has been through in his life and as the title states he is back as if he is referring to himself as insane and is back for revenge, this links to the picture which Eminem looks like the joker from Batman. The Joker is referred as an evil character that has gone insane and now creates pain among people to please himself, Eminem is probably comparing himself to the Joker from Batman because most of Eminem’s lyrics are about how much pain he has gone through and is now going to inflict pain on others, which he does to any artist in the music industry. The clothing he is wearing is dark colours which connote evil and it’s like he is lost in the darkness which was created by the pain he went through when he was young. This also links to the psycho title because a psycho is insane and Eminem is trying to put through a message to his audience that he has gone insane form the pain that he has gone through. 

Eminem portrays himself as a rival to any other artist who thinks they are the best to then end up proving that he is the best artist alive. He used to and still does make fun of other artist, but now only if they start on him first as oppose to before when he first started he used to   

The parental advisory sticker has been issued for this album cover because of explicit content so that parents can restrict their children from listening to the songs in the CD, this is because the songs might have or do have excessive use of profane language, drug and sexual reference. This also links to the front cover which states return of the psycho because psychos don’t exactly know what they are saying therefore can use profane language and act recklessly.
